"Pax et bonum" is the traditional Franciscan welcome and goodbye. Francis himself favored
its use, and often began and ended his sermons and letters with the words. Translated from
the Latin, it reads "peace and all good [be with you]."
There is quite a large Franciscan presence on the web, and I know that the added
exposure of the little brothers and sisters of Jesus has meant an increased number of postulates and even professions. This has certainly been the case for the Franciscan groups that I personally know of. In the Roman Catholic Church, religious communities are called Orders. In the Anglican Church, they tend to be called Societies. If you would like more information, or are just curious as to who and what is out there,
there are many websites you might visit. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, and the list is in no particular order - this is just a diverse sample.
